Getting Started with Reward Certificate Codes

A Reward Certificate Code is a one-time use code that is associated with a Certificate-type Reward. If a Member redeems the Reward by spending the required Metrics, the platform assigns them one of the Reward's unused certificate codes. The platform creates a Redemption (also known as a Reward Response), which references the certificate code that the Member received. The Member can then use this certificate code, such as to claim a digital download, or to gain some other discount or benefit.

Instead of the Member spending Metrics to redeem the Reward, marketers can also grant the Certificate-type Reward to Members for free (referred to as an Award).

In both scenarios (Redemption or Award), Loyalty links together the Reward, the Member, and their certificate code, allowing marketers to track how and when the Member gained the certificate code.

Each Reward Certificate Code has one of the following status values:

  • Unused: The certificate code has been generated and is stored within the platform, but has not yet been assigned to a Member.

  • Reserved: The certificate code has been linked to an anonymous Redemption (or Award).

  • Redeemed: The certificate code has been assigned to a Member who spent the necessary Metrics to redeem the Reward.

  • Awarded: The certificate code has been assigned to a Member who was granted the Reward for free.

  • Fulfilled: An optional status used by clients who want to track when a Member's purchase has been shipped, or completed. The Loyalty platform doesn't capture or track the Fulfilled status. This status must be set through some other mechanism, such as a batch import, for example.

The Reward Certificates screen is used to view, manage, and generate the Reward Certificate Codes in your loyalty program. This screen can optionally be used to create a bank of "unassociated" certificate codes not assigned to any Reward, from which the platform can draw when necessary.

Access

To access the Reward Certificates screen, select Rewards from the top navigation bar, then select Rewards > Reward Certificates from the side navigation menu.

Exports

The platform supports only Standard Exports for exporting Reward Certificate Codes. See Export Reward Certificate Codes for more information.
